Colossians 3
15Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. 17And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
With much prayer, our congregation has made a decision to move outside of our comfort zone and to place a real focus on life's most important question: "What on earth am I here for?". We enthusiastically welcome the participation of anyone who wishes to share in this six week campaign and encourage you to get involved. Reaching outside of ourselves is not something that comes easily to many of us and I myself am somewhat hesitant about sharing my intimate thoughts with people that I may have never met before. I submit myself to God's will and ask for you all to pray that this endeavor is everything that our Lord wants it to be. Welcome.
Our campaign is based on a spiritual growth program called "40 Days of Purpose" that was developed at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, Califonia. We will be reading a book titled The Purpose Driven Life written by Rick Warren. Dr. Warren's book explores, from a scriptural perspective, the reason(s) God chose to create us. The program has proven to be a powerful tool for launching new stages in the life-cycle of many churches. Additional information regarding the "40 Days of Purpose" campaign is provided in the links on the left. Please keep this church-wide effort in your prayers and ask God to guide our leaders as they move forward with preparations for the campaign.
